The actress who is 33 years old shared her experience of filming a scene from Avengers: Infinity War where her character, Wanda Maximoff, attempts to remove the Mind Stone from Vision’s forehead while combating Thanos. She expressed how it was quite embarrassing to execute such a crucial scene where the fate of the world depended on her actions. After completing the scene, she felt relieved and as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Olsen also laughed throughout the day as Josh Brolin, who portrays Thanos, had to wear a helmet to create the character’s visual effects. Even though the movies are a bit whimsical, she realized that it still requires serious acting skills. Additionally, Olsen’s unease increased when she had to perform the magical shooting scene in public, displaying emotional and painful expressions.
Elizabeth Olsen revealed in an interview with The New York Times earlier this year that she felt restricted in her role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She expressed disappointment that she had to turn down certain acting opportunities that aligned more with her personal preferences as an audience member. Despite the security of her job, Olsen felt like she was losing a part of herself. However, fans can look forward to seeing Olsen reprise her role as Wanda Maximoff in both WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2022. Additionally, the actress is currently gearing up to take on her own project centered around Scarlet Witch. Interestingly, Olsen also admitted feeling embarrassed by a scene in Avengers: Infinity War.
According to Elizabeth Olsen, her association with Marvel hindered her ability to fully showcase her acting capabilities and express herself in the way she desired.
